| OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS After many meetings among women who have been part of the feminist and lesbian music community, it has been suggested that artists/producers/technicians,fans etc send their historic papers to Schlesinger at Radcliff or to Smith. Both have strong archives and are interested in holding this material. Before sending, contact the archive directly and discuss with them the process. What kind of things are of interest? Don't throw it away until you think it through. A contract, hand written, that says ticket price $5 and describes the sound equipment or lack thereof to be used, can be of great historic importance. A faded xerox of a news clipping from a major newspaper that probably has its own archive, may not be so useful--but you never know. An informal snapshot from early ground-breaking events in your community with a description of the event, dates, etc can be wonderful. |
